Storage Boats: Snow Star

SNOW STAR is a 1968 keel sloop designed by Aage Nielsen and built by Aage Walsted of Thuro, Denmark. SNOW STAR's construction is a unique forerunner to modern wood composite methods, and has gracefully endured the test of time. She is double planked with epoxy glue between the planks faces and edges and the frames are laminated oak with copper rivet fasteners. Rockport Marine replaced the toe rails in 1994 and the engine in 2002. She cruises the coast of Maine and competes in wooden and classic boat races annually.
